Ran my heart out

Drumstick Dash – 4.5 miles, 44:38. I placed 2404 overall (out of about 8000) and 128 in my age group.

We experienced a family tragedy yesterday and I’m still beside myself. I was tempted to just sit in bed and cry all morning but I got up and went to the race, and I’m really glad I did. I ran my heart out and achieved a personal best. Very therapeutic.

Then hubby and I spent some time cleaning out the closets and came across our giant box of memories – all our photos and cards and letters from the last 7 or 8 years. We just sat on the floor and talked for a couple of hours. It was exactly what I needed.

This will probably be the worst Thanksgiving ever, but I am still grateful to have so many wonderful people in my life and I cherish every chance I get to spend with them.
